Check openssl version

Testing ssl connection
openssl s_client -connect mysite.com:443

How to check if following protocols are supported by a SSL website,

 -ssl2         - just use SSLv2
 -ssl3         - just use SSLv3
 -tls1         - just use TLSv1
 -dtls1        - just use DTLSv1

openssl s_client -connect mysite.com:443 -ssl3

    * If ssl3 is not supported you should see an error

-showcerts

openssl s_client -connect mysite.com:443 -showcerts

Check if you trust the certs (basically check the site against a java keystore etc.),

openssl s_client -connect mysite.com:443 -CAfile <Absolute_ca_file_path_location>

 -verify depth - turn on peer certificate verification

 -key arg      - Private key file to use, in cert file if
                 not specified but cert file is.
 -keyform arg  - key format (PEM or DER) PEM default
